Jason Valkenburg, Esq. is a native Floridian who was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Jason moved to Deland, Florida to attend college at Stetson University in Deland, Florida where he graduated with a degree in political science in 1998.
After graduating from college, Jason attended law school at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida where he met his wife Miriam. While at law school, Jason was certified as a legal intern and worked at the Public Defender’s office in Pinellas County where he was able to argue one of his first evidentiary hearings.
Once Jason graduated law school in 2001, he began prosecuting cases at the State Attorney’s office for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County. As a prosecutor Jason worked in the juvenile, misdemeanor and felony divisions prosecuting thousands of cases. During his time at the State Attorney’s Office, Jason tried numerous Jury trials in both misdemeanor and felony court.
In 2004, Jason left the State Attorney’s office to begin private practice at Valkenburg Law Group, PA. Once in private practice Jason began to concentrate in the areas of Criminal Defense, Family Law and Personal Injury. As a private attorney, Jason has been able to help numerous clients fight for their rights in criminal and civil matters. Jason prides himself in being able to help those in their time of need, whether they have been injured, going through a divorce or are accused of a crime. Since being in private practice, Jason has helped his clients in the pursuit of justice by fighting insurance companies in personal injury cases, helping clients in the divorce process and representing the accused.
Jason is now happily married to his wife Miriam and is the proud father of his first born daughter. While not practicing law Jason enjoys playing soccer, golfing, mountain biking, watching sports and spending time with his family.
